Marketing/Business Development Manager

The successful candidate will drive the marketing and business development program for a woman-owned design firm with a staff of 15-20 people. You will collaborate with firm leadership to create a responsive, strategic, and competitive marketing and business development program. This position offers an excellent opportunity for an established junior to mid-level professional to creatively grow into many new areas and acquire new skills. 

The successful candidate will have these attributes:

Marketing Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with firm leadership to develop strategic proposals, marketing collateral, interview presentations and materials, while taking the lead on managing quality control and deadlines. 

  • Maintain and update marketing files, including: leads/proposal tracking document, firm qualifications, team resumes, digital photo library, project sheets, RFP documents, submitted qualification packages and proposals, as well as a database of marketing contacts. 

  • Commission or coordinate photography shoots (either individually or in conjunction with an architecture firm). Research and acquire professional photography commissioned by other project team members. 

  • Pro-actively update the firm’s website (with leadership input and design assistance) and maintain CSY’s social media presence. 

  • Create award and conference white paper submissions. 

  • Lead special projects as related to Marketing and Business Development as new systems and tools are deployed. 

  • Mentor CSY staff in the fundamentals for marketing and business development. 

  • Assist and/or lead internal team building and values based workshops. Develop workshop materials and presentations with firm leadership.

Business Development Responsibilities:

  • Research, track, and review RFPs and RFQs. Review daily lead service emails. Provide summary of information to leadership and assist in go-no-go process. 

  • Provide research and subsequent analysis into markets, prospects, and potential new opportunities and relationships. 

  • Utilize an existing network of industry contacts to draw upon for new business and teaming opportunities as well as have the ability to develop new contacts. 

  • Attend pre-proposal conferences and industry events and conferences to foster and acquire new business opportunities/relationships and maintain knowledge of current industry trends. 

  • Seek out opportunities to promote firm leadership within the industry through conference speaking engagements, local events, and presentations. 

 

Requirements:

  • Minimum 4 years of experience within the AEC industry preferred. 

  • High level of proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Acrobat, Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Suite are required. Proficiency in Photoshop and Illustrator desired. 

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, English, Art History, Graphic Design, Architecture, or related fields. 

  • Full-time position is preferred, but a 32-34 hour/week commitment will be considered for more experienced candidates.

Revit/AutoCAD Designer

Clearstory is seeking a detail-oriented entry-level Revit/AutoCAD designer to become a part of our energetic and collaborative team. This person will participate in all aspects of Revit/AutoCAD modeling, management, and production for Clearstory.

Junior Experiential Graphic Designer (EGD)

Clearstory is seeking a motivated junior-level experiential graphic designer (EGD) to become a part of our energetic team. Our next hire will participate in all aspects of delivering exceptional wayfinding and placemaking programs, from concept development through construction documents and construction administration. We hire people, not resumes, and prior EGD experience is not required. It is understood that the junior design position requires mentorship and support from the Clearstory team.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development of construction documentation design details and final production art for environmental graphics, donor walls and other components of projects.

  • During fabrication and installation (construction administration) of the wayfinding and placemaking programs, help oversee production process including: color samples, shop drawings and prototypes.

 

Requirements:

  • High level of proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, and Acrobat are required. Experience in Revit, AutoCAD and CADTools is a plus.

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design or Visual Communications is preferred Graduates in Industrial Design, Interior Design, and Architecture will also be considered.

  • Full-time position of 40 hours a week is required.

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design or Visual Communications is preferred Graduates in Industrial Design, Interior Design, and Architecture will also be considered.

  • Full-time position of 40 hours a week is required.

  • Ability to commute weekly to our San Francisco based office.
